Veniard Turkey Marabou Large

Veniard Turkey Marabou Large

Veniard Turkey Marabou is a premium range of fly-tying feathers sourced from domestic turkeys, widely considered the industry standard in the UK and Europe for tying lures and streamers. It is renowned for its consistency, massive color palette (over 30 shades), and the specific "Hint of Colour" sub-range designed to look subtle dry but vibrant when wet.

Product Variations
Veniard sells this material in two primary grades, each serving a different mechanical purpose on the hook.
1. Large Selected (The Standard)
The "Blue Header" pack contains approximately 20 hand-sorted plumes.
  • Texture: Fluffier with a thicker stem.
  • Best For: Tying bulky bodies, large tails, or "wings" on lures like the Viva or Cat's Whisker.
  • Value: The most economical option for general purpose tying.

  • 2. Strung Bloods (The Mover)
  • Often labeled as "Blood Quills," these feathers are taken from the pin-feather stage of the turkey.
  • Texture: Longer, thinner stems with wispy, webby barbs.
  • Best For: Maximum underwater movement. This is the preferred choice for the pulsing tail of a Woolly Bugger.
